To all Members:
** Update 8/1/20
To All Lodge and Auxiliary Members,
There is no news from the lodge.
We have returned to our Regular Lodge Meeting schedule and will continue to hold the meetings as we have been accustomed. I hope to see you there.
The Board of Directors have also been meeting to discuss plans for a safe environment in the Grill Room as well as throughout the lodge building and the outside grounds. Some of the safety protocols will be that anyone entering the building MUST wear a mask at all times. The bartenders and anyone serving food or beverages MUST wear a mask and gloves and there are NO EXCEPTIONS.
Hand sanitizers will be located around the building and masks will be made available to any patron who doesn’t have one. The Grill Room, restrooms and common areas will be sanitized every night after the lodge is closed.
But that brings me to a very difficult point. The Covid-19 virus rates are beginning to rise again and our Governor has not lifted his Executive Order that prohibits the Lodge to re-open the Grill Room. Along with that, I have received many questions as to why we don’t have an open bar outside behind the lodge. I received a ten (10) page guideline from Raritan Township on how we could ‘open up’. First there is the permit, then there are the restrictions which are overwhelming and would require a minimum of spending $1700.00 just to start. I will discuss those at the next Lodge Meeting on August 12, 2020.
You must also remember that the Lodge is located in Raritan Township and they have their rules compared to other municipalities who have a lot more leeway for their establishments.
Attending a Lodge Meeting may be the best way to understand the Flemington Lodge’s path to return to normalcy. Show up, ask questions and become better informed.
