It is now nine weeks since the lodge has been open for business. Nothing has changed in the guidelines from the State of New Jersey and we haven’t heard anything from the Grand Lodge or NJSEA. So I guess we just sit and wait for now. I do hope that you are getting out to enjoy some fresh air and maybe some exercise. Those closets are cleaned out by now and the house is spotless and its time to ponder “Now what can I do?”
You can pay your dues if you haven’t done that already. As of now, we have over 100 members who are delinquent in their dues and that money is very important to the lodge and very much needed. Our expenses are down due to the lack of activity and that eases the burden on our bank account.
Take the time to talk up the Elks to friends and family and get those people to join our efforts to serve the community by becoming a member. We have lost over 60 members since 2016 and we need to build up those numbers.
You can also think about the Elks National Foundation (ENF) and begin to give a donation so that the Flemington Lodge can increase our per capita. Over the past four years the per capita has shrunk from $8.14 to $1.11 at this lodge. It is disappointing, but it can be raised.
In my opinion you are the Best People On Earth.
